Somerset Activity & Sports Partnership - SASP have enjoyed leading on Beat the Street and have been very lucky to deliver the game twice in Somerset. We have worked with Intelligent Health (Beat the Street) and created a video to summarise how amazing both of our Somerset games have been. The impact the two games have had in Bridgwater & Taunton engaging nearly 10,000 local people making them more active, healthier and happier in their local communities has been invaluable. Combining the two Somerset games (Bridgwater & Taunton) we have travelled an unbelievable 108,382 miles in Somerset playing Beat the Street! To put this into perspective this is the equivalent of travelling around the world just over 4 times!
Beat the Street has been a great tool for SASP to engage local primary schools, early years settings, families, community teams, workplaces and partners to make them more active and think about different ways to travel around their local community. It's really helped to build relationships and work on such a large scale across our county. We hope that it will come back to Somerset again at some point in the future to transform one of our towns again into a massive active travel game. Hopefully the video attached shows the impact it has made and the infographic from our recent Taunton & Bridgwater game shows some brilliant data.
