How Young People Forward is helping individuals in Humber
The National Initiative for Creative Education (NICE) is also Hull Migrant Centre and some of their work focuses on supporting young refugees and asylum seekers – mainly around their education. This project supported them to have the opportunity to be physically active but also to meet others and also get to know the City as the activities took place across different facilities. Swimming was a big focus of the project with some of the young people not being able to swim, or never having the opportunity to sim prior to this project.
Tackling Inequalities fund helps keep people with slight loss active during lockdown
Providing cycle skills sessions in the heart of the community targeting adults and families in the Town and Crosby area of Scunthorpe ( identified areas of high physical inactivity levels and an area of deprivation).
Active Humber worked with the the Stroke Association, to fund sessions through Sport Englands Tackling Inequalities Funding to support stroke survivors to be active in their own homes during these times.
