Mums’ Team partnership sees Yorkshire women being more active

Mums’ Team aims to support mums, focusing on our disadvantaged communities as identified in the Yorkshire Sport Foundation strategy, to become leaders through sport and physical activity sessions, they are supported through this by community mentors.

The Birmingham Way – Reshaping the workforce to tackle inactivity in our city

The Birmingham Way recognises there are particular barriers and motivations that result in people avoiding physical activity and as a result there is a need for a workforce that has the right skills and characteristics to engage inactive communities across the city.

Challenge through Sport Initiative

As part of Lancashire workforce development offer- Coaches and volunteers who support LSP programmes such as Challenge through Sport Initiative (CSI), Workplace Challenge, Satellite Clubs, and Coaching Academies can receive mentoring, 1-1 support from our Workforce Development Manager Jayne Wilson

Tackling inactivity by diversifying the workforce

It’s estimated that in Buckinghamshire over 7,500 people aged 18 to 64 years have a learning disability. This is the largest single disability group in the county and whilst there isn’t currently participation data specifically for this group, research does show that those with a disability are 14% less active than those without a disability.

Workplace Physical Activity Champions

MSP were commissioned by Liverpool City Council (LCC) and NHS Liverpool CCG (LCCG) to deliver the ‘Liverpool Active Workplaces’ programme, in order to reduce physical inactivity and sedentary behaviour within the workplace.

The GM Leadership Academy

Throughout Greater Manchester GreaterSport are aiming to build the knowledge, skills and understanding of the workforce. Research shows that gaining a leadership qualification improves confidence by 71%, in Greater Manchester this figure in previous years has been at 52%.
