Napier Barracks provides temporary residence to adult males seeking asylum in the UK. It is the intention of Kent Police to develop relationships, break down barriers between those seeking asylum and the police.
The National Initiative for Creative Education (NICE) is also Hull Migrant Centre and some of their work focuses on supporting young refugees and asylum seekers – mainly around their education. This project supported them to have the opportunity to be physically active but also to meet others and also get to know the City as the activities took place across different facilities. Swimming was a big focus of the project with some of the young people not being able to swim, or never having the opportunity to sim prior to this project.
Through our work at MSP we show the impact we have on strengthening local communities by integrating refugees through the use of social football sessions.
