Research has highlighted that women only account for around 30% of the coaching workforce, and this proportion drops to 17% of qualified coaches and only 12% of highly qualified coaches??!! So what are Northants doing about it??

Northamptonshire Sport are delighted to announce a new programme for 2016 to get more women into coaching. #NorthantsGirlsCanCoach

January 2016 will kick off the campaign with a 'Come Into Coaching' session on 27th January 2016 offered free of charge for all aspiring female coaches or just those that would like to learn a little more about what coaching would be like!. These prospective coaches will then have the opportunity to gain access to additional 1-2-1 advice and guidance through the Northamptonshire Sport team to support them to realise their next steps.

A Female themed Coach Scholarship round will be launched in February for which we will accept applications from everyone but additional funds will be included specifically to support women achieve coaching qualifications!!

And finally, the Female Coaching Forum will take place on 24th May 2016 offering a networking and training opportunity to female coaches across the county regardless of current level or experience. From this, we will look to establish a network of female coaches in the county, providing ongoing support via an online platform and annual meetings.
