Top tips for spending the Primary PE and Sport Premium

Posted on 9th November 2020

The Active Partnership National Team have worked with afPE, Youth Sport Trust and the Department for Education to contribute and endorse the Seven Top Tips for the PE and Sport Premium during Covid. The document has been created to give schools some examples of effective and sustainable use of the funding.

The Top Tips were originally created by North Yorkshire Sport, Active Humber and Yorkshire Sport Foundation to try and support schools to find effective ways to spend their PE and Sport Premium this academic year navigating the challenges presented by Covid. Feedback from Active Partnerships indicate that schools are feeling over-whelmed with the amount of information they are receiving on a daily basis and we felt it would be useful to bring national partners together to contribute to and adopt the Top Tips document and provide a collaborative and consistent message to schools around this year's PE and Sport Premium.

We welcomed the additional input of Swim England and UK Coaching to provide consistent messaging to schools on school swimming and coaches operating within and outside of the curriculum. We hope to do more of this collaborative work in the coming months as part of our shared vision to support schools through this challenging time.
