Background
Bantock is a diverse community school situated in inner-city Wolverhampton, with over 40 languages and 70% EAL. It is ranked in the lowest 6% nationally for deprivation, 48% mobility and with 64% of children identified as disadvantaged.
The school was identified as having a strong process for ensuring they met the grant conditions attached to the Primary PE and Sport Premium.
With additional support from Active Black Country County Sports Partnership this school became an example of best practice to share with other schools as to how to maximise the impact of the investment.
Leadership
The head teacher, deputy head and PE lead were all involved in a review of their use of the grant, continually focusing on ‘what difference do we make to our pupils’.
Examples from the school website
Following the collation of evidence, the action plans were updated and displayed clearly on the school website, with Senior Leadership ensuring it was used as an outward facing information tool for all visitors. The content was also monitored by Governors.
