Active Partnerships are pleased to support UK Coaching Week 2020.
The awareness campaign – which empowers athletes, coaches and the public to celebrate great coaching – centres on the need to ‘Support Your Coach’, kicking off with the #GreatCoachingPledge that calls on the nation to give some of their own time, sharing thanks and support for the coaching community.
“This years Coaching Week is more important than ever to help recognise the extra mile our clubs, coaches and volunteers have gone to to find ways to keep the nation active during the global pandemic. We have been amazed and proud of the breadth of innovation, commitment and energy that the sport and physical activity workforce have given to adapt their delivery to online platforms, ways in which they have managed to reach out to and support the hardest to reach communities most affected by Covid and the gusto in which they have navigated the Government guidance to help get individuals and communities of all ages and demographics active in club, school and community settings again”
As a network, many of our APs have held regular virtual webinars to help keep coaches and volunteers connected and to help talk through the ever changing Govt guidelines. We have also supported a much broader workforce through TIF to help support new organisations support those most in need during Covid. We have also had lots of online CPD developed both with organisations such as UK Coaching and AP own versions to help keep their workforce’s up skilled during this time and ready to return to play. We have also supported national partners such as SE promote their Re-Train learning and helped the development of the CIMSPA online delivery policy for activity providers. The focus for APs will now be on reviewing their workforce plans taking stock of the imps cat of Covid on their local clubs, volunteers, coaches and professional workforce.
