Jim decided to cycle to work each day of Workplace Challenge (8 miles round trip) rather than use the car. He would normally drive this journey 4 times a week but in the last 8 weeks he has cycled 37 times including weekend trips to the gym. On top of this he also made sure he go swimming before work each morning and has now turned this into a routine. Also go for a short walk at lunch time everyday with work colleagues which has also become a routine.
It has been quite competitive in their workplace with half of the department signed up and there has been a lot of discussion about everyone's progress. He doesn't think they would have done this without the Workplace Challenge which has really been the catalyst for this. In total he has lost 6Kg in weight during this period and saved approximately £40 in petrol.
