Sport England are providing Leap with £50,000 funding to support and distribute to community organisations to support priority groups in Bucks and Milton Keynes to be active during Covid-19.
To maximise the impact of this funding Leap is working in partnership with the Community Foundations to match our investment.
Both Heart of Bucks (Bucks Community Foundation) and Milton Keynes Community Foundation will be administering the fund on our behalf. The fund has been apportioned one third to MK and two thirds to Bucks based on population.
Heart of Bucks have agreed to match the funding with their own funds doubling the funds available in Bucks. MK Community Foundation will be allocating a matched amount to physical activity in Milton Keynes.
The Community Foundations will administer the online grant application process and grant panel with final approval for the grants from Leap and Sport England.
By increasing the funding available in Bucks and MK the fund will be adding value and impact. Working in partnership with the Community Foundations will mean that the combined understanding of the local areas from all organisations will ensure that the fund will really meet the needs of our community. Enabling us to connect to the priority audiences quickly and directly with the required support and identify those most in need.
Leap already has a strong links to both Community Foundations working on projects in the past, approaching them to work on this fund together has really improved those relationships and will hopefully mean working together again on other physical activity projects in the future.
