Today the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Health and Care Partnership and West Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit launched their anti-racism movement #WYHRootOutRacism.

It was shaped by colleagues and communities who shared their experience of racism and the commitmemt has been shared by over 450 organisations / community allies across the area.

Yorkshire Sport Foundation is proud to support the #WYHRootOutRacism movement.

Our CEO Nigel Harrison said: We stand shoulder to shoulder with all the other organisations committed to stopping racism and addressing the inequalities it causes. Every single one of our team is committed to being anti-racist, and we all stand with those who have been or continue to be victims of racist abuse. Sport and physical activity can teach us so much about living, working and playing together better.

At Yorkshire Sport Foundation we include everyone, as we believe sport and physical activity is for everyone. You can read our diversity and inclusion statement here.

Join the #WYHRootOutRacism movement

There is a Communication Toolkit, for the campaign which groups organisations can use locally and in their networks and channels.

Please read the Communication Toolkit Brief carefully to see what assets are available and how to use this toolkit effectively.

A marketing campaign, including on buses (with bus routes across the region) and kiosks, will launch on Monday 30 August for one month. Please look out for them and help spread the message by taking a picture and posting on social media with the hashtag #WYHRootOutRacism.

Many supporters are also sharing visuals in their buildings and outdoors too. Please share pictures of these too.

People can still join this important movement and sign up for free resources at http://bit.ly/3zmxEGd
