Active Norfolk support free walks for those living with dementia

Active Nofolk is supporting a programme of regular free walks for those living with dementia and their carers and relatives in North Norfolk.

The next programme of when and where the walks will be held has been released for May, June and July. The walks are led by trained volunteers and aim to enrich the lives of people living with dementia. The short walks offer time to be outside, to feel the sun on your skin, to see the waves rolling in and to hear the seagulls, look at the trees and smell the grass.

These are very short walks with a cup of tea or ice cream with friends after. No need to think - unless you want to. No need to talk - unless you want to. The walks are for anyone who loves walking but may have memory obstacles of late. People from day care centres and dementia units are welcome as are wheelchair users.
